  1. I think the portion that dealt with framing questions and feedback resonated most with me. I think all to often looking back at some of my educational experiences, many teachers could have worded their questions better or provided more informational feedback. It's something I would really like to be cognizant of once I get into my own classroom.

  2. The question of why does direct instruction work is the section that I found most useful and interesting. Teacher presentations if done well are one of the most appropriate ways of communicating a large amount of material in a short amount of time. They are most appropriate for cognitive and affective objectives at the lower levels of taxonomies.

  3. The concept of Flexible teaching is what resonated with me. I thought that it is very clever way in addressing differentiated teaching. I like the part that the students are group by the learning need not the grade or age. This reminds me of one of the teaching strategies that I researched: rick stiggins where in on the examples the teacher after the test group them in learning activities based on their needs.

    1. Marina, in my opinion I think you will make an amazing teacher. You have a real passion for students and are happy to learn new strategies and techniques that will make your students go far. To be kind of cliched, I only hope to become the kind of teacher I know you will be.

  4. The Rosenshine's Six Teaching Functions allows teachers to know instatenously if the students are learning, to review and check daily will enable a teacher to provide better instruction and help students learn from material missed.

  5. The part that was most interesting to me would have to be the questioning and discussion. I would want to use convergent questions and divergent questions in my classroom because students would have to use deeper thinking to answer them.

  6. For me that questioning and discussion. I know that as an individual I may somethings pose questions thinking that they are the keys to getting the right answer, but sometimes it just makes things more confusing. Utilizing the tools in the chapter to ensure I am reaching the right student with the right question or asking more questions when the answers are not correct. Trial and error on my part is going to a part of my experiences as a beginning teacher.
